San Jose police have arrested a couple in the theft of 18 computers during two burglaries of an elementary school.
Operating on a tip, police searched a residence in the 14000 block of Whipple Court where they recovered several school computers and related equipment while arresting a man and a woman, police spokesman Enrique Garcia said Friday.
The thefts at Cureton Elementary occurred in mid-February and last weekend.
Robert Mendez Gutierrez, 20, was booked on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property and methamphetamine, and being under the influence of drugs. Ivy Rose Flanigan, 21, was booked on suspicion of possession of stolen property and methamphetamine, being under the influence of drugs, and violating probation.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police burglary unit at (408) 277-4401."
