Suspect arrested in window smash burglaries
Police arrested a man Tuesday in connection with a series of commercial burglaries in the city spanning two weeks.
Michael Anthony Gutierrez, 23, admitted to at least three commercial burglaries since May 5 on the west side of Redlands, police said.
Police sought Gutierrez for questioning following a vehicle check in the 1900 block of Orange Tree Lane Tuesday morning. The driver of that vehicle, Robert Roy Reynolds, 24, was arrested on suspicion of possession of burglary tools.
Police said they went to a room at the Redlands Motor Lodge where they located Gutierrez along with a laptop computer stolen in the burglary Monday of a business in the 400 block of Business Center Drive. Gutierrez admitted to that burglary as well as a May 5 burglary in the 2000 block of Orange Tree Lane and a May 8 burglary in the 1900 block of Orange Tree Lane, police said.
In all three burglaries, windows were smashed and laptop computers were taken.
Also arrested was Shelley Marie Trinque, 23, and Robin Levi Gurule, 39, on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance."
