OMAHA, Neb. -- A recording studio that helps north Omaha youth was burglarized Thursday morning and thousands of dollars in equipment was stolen. It is not the first time burglars targeted the building, the owner said.

"When they kicked in the door, they hit the door so hard that it hit the back wall and vibrated the whole house," said owner Raymond Clark. "(My mother) jumped up and hollered, 'Hey, who's down there?'"

Clark's BC Stone Age Production studio, located on 37th and Brown streets, was open late Wednesday night.

"I had a late session last night and they left around 1 (a.m.) They forgot to let me know to lock the deadbolt," Clark said.

Clark said someone tried to break in just a couple of months ago but was unsuccessful. This time, whoever broke in took four expensive items, including a computer, a keyboard, and a hard disk recorder.

Clark said it's upsetting because he works so hard to help the less fortunate youth in the city by not charging them to use his newly-opened facility.

"We work with them. We try to keep them off the streets, and most of the guys that come here are pretty well mannered," Clark said.

If you have any information about the stolen equipment or the break-in, please call Crime Stoppers at (402) 444-STOP.
