KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Grain Valley police are hoping someone may recognize a woman from a surveillance camera picture after stolen checks were passed at several businesses.
Investigators said that the woman was seen passing one of the stolen checks at Westlake Hardware at Highway 24 and Noland Road on June 21.
Police said the checks were stolen when a business was burglarized in the 1400 block of West Highway AA last month. Rare coins, cash, at least three silver bars, a laptop computer and several company checks were taken.
Since the burglary, detectives said that more than 50 checks were passed at businesses in eastern Jackson County and Clay County.
Investigators ask that anyone who recognizes the woman in the photograph to call the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS or the Grain Valley Police Department at (816) 847-6250."
