Northeast ISD has suspended one of its high school principals with pay after an investigation into some stolen computer equipment, News 4 WOAI learned Monday.
Roosevelt High School principal Robert Todd was put on administrative leave, NEISD spokewoman Laura Calderon said.
The disciplinary action against Todd stems from an investigation we told you about last week.
NEISD learned some students stole some computer equipment from Roosevelt's technology program in July.
School district leaders and police said they heard nothing about the theft until a local media website called it to their attention.
The program's former director told News 4 WOAI she typed up a theft report and gave it to the principal.
NEISD spokeswoman Laura Calderon told News 4 WOAI Monday Roosevelt staff did not follow proper procedures. In order to allow the investigation to proceed, the district decided to put Todd on leave, Calderon said.
We called Principal Todd to get his side of the story. He chose not to talk to us Monday.
