![Post a Comment](Vandals don't get far with politician's computer

<br />VANCOUVER -- <strong>It wasn't quite Watergate, but vandals swiped a computer from Washington state Rep. Deb Wallace's Vancouver office Wednesday morning. </strong>
<br />They dumped it in the bushes near the office in the 100 block of Southeast 124th Avenue but apparently did not steal any files or other private information stored on the computer, according to Wallace's office.
<br />Nothing else was stolen, but an adjacent office was vandalized.
<br />
<br />The Vancouver Democrat assured people that their e-mails and correspondence were protected.
<br />"None of our files are actually stored on the computer in the district office, but remotely on the legislative servers in Olympia," Wallace said. "Even then, all of the key files on the computer are password-protected</p>
