DURHAM -- A burglar broke into the Durham Convention & Visitors Bureau and stole a laptop computer early Wednesday, police said.

According to the incident report, a Dell laptop valued at $500 was taken from the office at 101 E. Morgan St. around 4:15 a.m.

Reyn Bowman, the bureau's president, said surveillance cameras took pictures of the burglar. Police believe they know the suspect's identity, he added.

Bowman said the burglar smashed a glass door with a rock and took the laptop, which had been used to register visitors.
