WSR gets back its stolen computers

The four desktop computers stolen from the William S. Reyes Elementary School last week have been returned to the school yesterday but all were damaged and inoperable.

WSR principal Alfred Ada said the Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Bureau commander Major Edward Manalili called his office early in the morning that the stolen computers were ready for pick up.

Ada said he was thankful for the retrieval of the stolen computers but when they plugged them in, they learned that the computers were all down and would need major repairs.

He said the damage could have resulted from the way the computers were "yanked" from the terminals. "We tested them and they are all damaged," said Ada.

The principal has asked for information about the suspects in the theft but Manalili had reportedly refused to give details about them other than that the suspects were minors.

When he asked Manalili what fate awaits the suspects, the police officer reportedly replied that they would possibly be released from the Juvenile Detention Center.

Ada said he is now calling on the parents of the suspects to help the school in repairing the damaged computers.

"We need to hold the parents accountable for these damage," he said.
