WALNUT - Burglars broke into an elementary school over the weekend, stole four computers but left six sitting outside.Three computers were taken from C.J. Morris Elementary School's computer lab, which houses 40 machines. Burglars also stole the librarian's computer, which contains the book catalog and student library records.

In addition, all the mice and keyboards disappeared from the lab, according to Robert Herrera, site supervisor. Herrera said the school is still investigating other stolen items.

Driving by the school Saturday morning, Herrera said he noticed six computers sitting in front of the school and discovered a broken window. He thinks the thieves, who had left when he arrived, were prepared to take all the computers.

"Apparently, they got spooked," he said. "They dumped everything and took off and left those behind. But they were ready to take more."
