GARDNER -- A Westminster man allegedly stole an array of office equipment from a local business earlier this week, then stashed the goods in a next-door apartment, according to police Det. Lt. Gerald J. Poirier.
In addition, police found pictures of the suspect posing "proudly" with the computers he allegedly stole.
"He's not smiling now, he's down at the big house," Poirier said.
Police arrested Timothy J. Bergevin, Jr., 22, of 110 Turnpike Road in Westminster, whom they believe committed the robbery.
"Also recovered was a stolen digital camera, which contained images of Bergevin, posing proudly with the computers," Poirier wrote.
An employee who works at Liberty Real Estate, 196 Main St., arrived at work Wednesday morning and saw the place had been robbed.
The burglar had gone through the business the night before and taken five Dell computers, food, some of the workers' personal items and three $50 Stop & Shop gift cards, according to Poirier.
"The local Stop & Shop located on Timpany Boulevard was notified and canceled the gift cards," Poirier wrote in a press release.
The security guards at the supermarket notified police around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday that a man and two women fled the store after attempting to use the gift cards, according to Poirier.
Police went to the store and watched the surveillance tapes and recognized one of the women and knew she lived next door to Liberty Real Estate, according to Poirier.
Police searched the woman's apartment, located at 178 Main St., and found all of the stolen merchandise inside, according to Poirier.
Police charged Bergevin with breaking and entering during the nighttime for a felony, larceny from a building and receiving stolen property.
Court officials ordered Bergevin held on $10,000 bail, and sent him to the Worcester County House of Correction after an arraignment hearing at Gardner District Court Thursday, according to Poirier.
Poirier said police didn't arrest the women who were spotted with Bergevin, because they cooperated with them and were witnesses to the crime.
Police returned the stolen property to the business, Poirier said
