Computer theft
Pittsburgh burglary detectives are investigating the theft of computer equipment over the weekend from the offices of the city's Urban Redevelopment Authority at 200 Ross Street, Downtown.
URA Director Jerome N. Dettore said a $500 computer and monitor were taken from an 11th-floor office. The theft was not discovered until Tuesday.
The information the computer contained was not particularly valuable, Dettore said.
He said it is unclear how the burglar gained access to the building. In response, the authority established a new policy requiring entrance and stairwell doors of the John P. Robin Civic Building to be locked at the end of each workday. "
