Students are being warned to watch out for dodgy dealers who are attempting to flog stolen laptops to students at low prices.

After a spate of laptop robberies across Manchester in the last three months, officers believe that thieves are selling the stolen equipment on to students.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police told students to watch out for low price second hand laptops. “We believe thieves may be stealing the computers and selling them back to members of the student community,” he said: “Many of these laptops have been stolen from students who have left a door or window open.”
