NEVADA COMPUTER THEFT AT APARTMENT COMPLEX COULD LEAD TO IDENTITY THEFT FOR RESIDENTS Apartment complex break-in could lead to identity theft: "Earlier this week someone broke into the rental office of an apartment complex and stole a computer that contained everything from social security numbers to driver's license information.

It happened at the Indian Ridge Apartments at Fort Apache and Twain in the southwest part of town. It was a wake-up call that many residents, including Phillip Morlowe, weren't expecting.

'Had I come home earlier, I would have come home while this was happening. A computer was stolen and a treadmill. It's their opinion that the computer was stolen for the information on the computer, not the computers itself,' said Morlowe.

Morlowe says when he came home Monday morning someone had broken into the leasing office and had stolen office equipment. 'For me to get the apartment, I had to furnish my own personal information,' he said.

Morlowe says he suspects his and everyone else's personal information was on office computers including names, phone numbers, social security numbers; now it's all in the hands of a thief.

'If there were security here, it's not to say they would have been here when it happened. If a tenant would have seen this happening, which I was told by the manager that a tenant did see it happening, they didn't even understand what they saw. They thought it was somebody who lived here m"
