MISSISSIPPI COMPUTERS STOLEN FROM SCHOOL Clarksdale Press Register

Over $6,500 worth of goods were stolen from an unlocked classroom at Oakhurst Middle School over the weekend.Calls to the school were diverted to Dr. Wilma Wade, superintendent of Clarksdale Municipal Schools, who had no knowledge of the report.

According to police, the grand larceny on the 100 block of West Second Street netted two computers, a window unit air conditioner, a T.V., a musical instrument, two scanners, three VCRs, a digital camera, two printers, a disc player, a camcorder and a boombox.Increased security measures have lessened break-ins at area schools, but police reported this particular classroom was unlocked.Other incidents reported Tuesday included a grand larceny on the 600 block of South State Street. Some money was stolen. An auto burglary was also reported on the 400 block of Mooney. A CD player was stolen
