Izard County makes arrest in theft case

MELBOURNE — A school break-in has led to an Oxford man facing felony charges for the second time within a week.
Joshua Shane Dockins, 20, of Oxford has been charged for the second time within a week with felony commercial burglary and theft of property, Sheriff Tate Lawrence said.
The most recent charges stem from Violet Hill School being forcibly entered and a computer and a camcorder being taken.
Lawrence said several rooms of the school were entered, but school officials could determine that only the two items had been taken. The computer was turned in to authorities, while the camcorder has not been located.
The individual who turned in the computer said it had been found at Dockins’ residence, which is near Second Street and state Highway 354 in Oxford. (The man charged is the son of Roger Dockins, not the son of Tim Dockins, whose son is also named Joshua.)
The arrest warrant for the second crime was served on Dockins while he was in the Izard County jail for a previous crime that involved commercial burglary and theft of property from the Bike Shop in Oxford, where several retail items were stolen. The investigation is continuing, and others may be charged with theft by receiving.
An additional person, Jason Winemiller, 26, of Alicia was arrested in connection with the breaking and entering along with theft of property of a residence last week on Knob Creek Road. Items stolen from the residence include electrical wiring and copper plumbing material.
Winemiller is the brother of Allen Winemiller of Melbourne, who, along with Larry Joe Long, was previously charged with this crime. The second Winemiller was the third suspect. He was transported Saturday from Lawrence County to the Izard County jail.
All three men remain in jail, each facing two class D felonies and two class C felonies. Lawrence said these men are likely to be found to be involved in the theft of copper tubing and electrical wiring in other counties.
Allen Winemiller faces an additional charge of filing a false report. When being questioned about the identity of the third suspect, Winemiller falsely told sheriff’s deputies that another individual was involved in the crime. Filing a false report is a class D felony.
