Drugs, Computers Stolen From Daytona Beach Animal Clinic
POSTED: 5:37 pm EST October 31, 2006
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Somebody broke into a Daytona Beach animal clinic and the owner said they knew what to look for.
The owner found a smashed window at the Driftwood Animal Clinic on Mason Avenue. The burglar had broken into a locked drug closet and stole, among other things, a drug called Ketamine, an anesthetic that can be sold on the street.
The owner of the clinic said it's the third time his clinic has been targeted for drugs.
"Essentially, they are no different than human drugs. They don't care if it comes from an animal hospital or a human hospital," the clinic owner told Eyewitness News.
The burglar also stole the clinic's computers.
Daytona Beach police were still investigating the break-in, but have no leads.
