MUNCIE, Ind. (NLI) - Two Ball State University football players are under arrest and awaiting charges after the theft of three laptop computers from a campus dorm.

Cornerback Eulas Taylor III, 19, and linebacker Brandon Houston, 18, were arrested early Friday morning. They are being held without bond in the Delaware County Jail on felony charges of burglary and possession of stolen property.


Taylor and Houston, both freshmen, have been suspended indefinitely from the football team for violating team rules, according to a statement by head football Coach Brady Hoke.

Two of the computers were reported stolen from Kimberly Gibson and Kacie Whitmore's room in Woody Hall after a fire alarm at the dorm early Friday morning.

The other computer was reported stolen from Cody Buckman's room in Shales Hall, while he waited outside after the fire alarm went off.

Student affairs official Alan Hargrave said a university employee witnessed the incident.

"Our security supervisor saw one suspect drop a bag from a window to the other suspect outside the dorm room,"

Hargrave said. "He approached the suspect and he fled."Hargrave said the supervisor then called the police.

"When the police arrived, they found one of the suspects, and the bag with the laptops in it, hiding in a bush," Hargrave said.

Taylor has started five out of the first six games for the cardinals this season, while Houston is a has not played a game this season.

Members of the Ball State football program declined to comment.

Both Taylor and Houston are on athletic scholarships.
