PENNSYLVANIA COMPUTERS STOLEN FROM SOVEREIGN BANK'S LOSS PREVENTION AND SECURITY OFFICE PennLive.com: NewsFlash - News in brief from eastern Pennsylvania: "READING, Pa. (AP) — Thieves entered a back door of a Sovereign Bank regional headquarters, made their way directly to the second-floor loss prevention and security office and stole two computers, police said.

'They seemed to know exactly what they were going after, so I can only imagine what was on those computers,' Sgt. Guy S. Lehman of the city police criminal investigations division said Monday.

The office oversees security for all of the bank's branches. The thieves took the computers and fled undetected shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Edward J. Shultz, Sovereign's director of communications, said the bank was conducting an internal investigation but declined to comment beyond what police had said. 'We're obviously working very closely with local law enforcement,' Shultz said.

Lehman said police would be checking bank security cameras for recognizable pictures of the two men. One had a backpack or suitcase, he said. 'We will probably have some pictures of the burglars, although I don't know how good they will be because the burglars seemed to turn away and try to avoid the cameras,' Lehman said."
