FLORIDA COMPUTERS STOLEN FROM BUSINESSES IN LEE COUNTY NBC2 News Online - Electronics thieves steal everything, including security cameras

LEE COUNTY: Deputies say a group of meticulous electronics thieves have struck for the fourth time in a week, this time stealing everything "with a plug" from a construction office.

Detectives say so far these criminals have taken plasma TV’s, computers, copy machines, speakers and even the security cameras that have caught them in the act.

They have already hit two Rent-A-Center stores and an Audio Connection in Lee County – Magnum Construction was their latest victim. It was robbed Monday night.

"We believe they first cut all these phone lines and then they came right here where the power disconnect is and shut it right off," said Anthony Magadino, Magnum Construction.

That disabled the alarm allowing the burglars to bust through the office’s window undetected.

Deputies say that is how these criminals cover their tracks.

"Well this is probably the second or third business that has been burglarized where the phone wires were cut. Obviously they don't want the alarms being tripped," said Angelo Vaughn, Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

But what makes the construction burglary different. The crooks not only disabled the security system – they stole it.

"They stole the entire recorder so they still have the tape of themselves actually. If they ever find that, they'll have the people on there," said Magadino.

Detectives are checking local pawn shops for the stolen electronics, but if you know anything about these crimes you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS. You can remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
