LOUISVILLE) -- Thieves have ripped off a group dedicated to helping cancer victims. Workers at the American Cancer Society at 7th and Muhammad Ali showed up for work Tuesday morning and realized someone had broken in overnight and stolen most of their laptop computers.

"Usually, if someone steals a computer it's for one of two reasons," said Major Troy Riggs. "One, it's for the value of the computer, it can be resold. Or second, they will get on the computer and look for social security numbers, date of births, that could be used in some type of identity theft."

Cell phones, cameras and radios sitting around the room were not taken. Police are investigating.
