SOUTH AFRICA COMPUTERS STOLEN FROM SUPERMARKET IOL: Pair in custody after Lenasia robbery: Two men were arrested on Wednesday afternoon after they were found in possession of goods stolen earlier from a supermarket in Lenasia South, Vaal Rand police said.
The two, along with six other armed men, allegedly overpowered two security guards at the Orient Supermarket, took their service pistols and tied them up at around 2am on Wednesday, said Superintended Maria Mazibuko.
'They then went into the supermarket and stole computers, a video machine, groceries and cash.' She said the goods stolen totalled R100 000.
Police had been searching for the robbers since 6am and arrested two at 2pm.
'Police spotted a suspicious Isuzu bakkie, tried to stop it, but its driver accelerated on. They gave chase and caught it after a few kilometres,' said Mazibuko."
