ALABAMA COMPUTERS STOLEN FROM TROY UNIVERSITY OFFICES WSFA TV Montgomery, AL - Computers Stolen At Math And Science Hall At Troy University

Computers Stolen At Math And Science Hall At Troy University

In the hallway at the math and science complex, there is clear evidence that someone broke into two offices and attempted to break into several others. It appears they used something like a crow bar. Once inside Dr. Don Jeffrey's office, they stole 3 computers.

"As far as I'm concerned thieves are no good," Jeffrey said.

"It typically happens around this time of year because they're looking for quick cash," said Troy University Police Chief Rod Anderson.

Is it an inside job or someone off the streets? Campus investigators don't know but what they do know is whoever did this knew what they were doing.

"I'm annoyed," said Dr. Steve Ramroop who teaches math at Troy University. Ramroop lost a computer and a projector, and the culprit apparently knew just what to do to avoid a trap.

"Usually when I come in my web cam is pointing in this direction but when I came in this morning it was in this location pointing towards the corner of the room," said Dr. Ramroop.

In all 4 computers and a projector worth around $12,000 stolen from two offices, and with no one in custody, this case for now is still wide open.

Police don't know if they're dealing with one suspect or more than one.
