LOUISIANA COMPUTER STOLEN FROM CHURCH The Shreveport Times: Three flat-screen televisions and a computer may be wrapped and waiting under a Christmas tree this morning after the theft of the three big-ticket items from the Broadmoor Baptist Church on Youree Drive in Shreveport.

'They were in the main hallway of the church and were worth about $5,000,' said Donny Durr, minister of business administration for Broadmoor Baptist Church.

No one noticed the items were missing until they came in for services early Sunday morning, he said.

'The offices were closed on Friday and we don't remember seeing anything out of the ordinary, so we thought it probably happened over the weekend,' Durr said.

Broadmoor Baptist has been in Shreveport since 1930 and continues to have one of the most time-honored area congregations. It is headed by the Rev. Chuck A. Pourciau.

It's a congregation who, according to Durr, would be more than happy to find out who took their televisions and computer.

'It'd be nice if we found out who did it -- although, I guess you can say it was just a few things and they didn't break anything,' he said.

According to officials at the Shreveport Police Department, the incident will be regarded as a business burglary, which will carry a stiffer sentence for adults than juveniles.

Durr, however, sees it another way.
