An unknown person stole a Hilton Head Island firefighter's computer while he was responding to a call for service Thursday night, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.
The report states the firefighter with the Hilton Head Island Fire and Rescue Division put his Dell 6000 laptop valued at $2,500 on his bed in the division's station on Queens Folly Road when he left for the call at around 1:30 p.m.
When he returned to the station at 4 p.m., the back door was open and no one was inside. His computer was gone, the report states.
