AUGUSTA, Ga.---A local burglary could be bad news for some members of the military.

A laptop with sensitive information about US soldiers was stolen from inside a staff sergeant's home.

SSG Darrol Boxton has filed two incident reports with the sheriff's office. They're proof that this has happened before...and that perhaps he's being targeted.

Boxton says this is the fourth time his home has been burglarized.

"It's a bad feeling knowing people come in here and ramble on through your stuff while you're gone," he said.

And this time, there's an even worse feeling, because among the items stolen is a laptop with classified information on at least ten soldiers...including Army account numbers and social security numbers.

Boxton has always relied on it to type up reports he's otherwise too busy to during his workday.

Luckily, he says, it's data that can only be accessed with a password.
Still, he's frustrated.

"Just the fact that they have it, you know," he said. "I got to upload all that information on another computer."

While Boxton boards up his windows, the sheriff's office is on the hunt, following a suspicion that his teenage neighbor may be the thief and the one responsible for compromising sensitive information.

"We've got at least an avenue to go with the investigation right now," said Lt. Jimmy Young of the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.

Boxton hopes that avenue will lead straight to his laptop.

The laptop stolen is a Compaq computer, gray in color, valued at $1300. It was last seen on Cameron Drive.
