A Minden man was arrested Thursday in connection to a church burglary that occurred in November of last year.

Carl Dollar, 20, was arrested January 4 and charged with burglary of a religious building. A probation/parole hold has also been placed.

According to Webster Parish Detective Scotty Tucker, Dollar is accused of breaking into Antioch Baptist Church sometime during the early morning hours of November 13, 2006.

During the break-in, Dollar, who was known to attend the church, reportedly stole $15,000 to $18,000 worth of music equipment including a guitar, computers and other electronic devices.

During the investigation, Detective Tommy Kemp of the Minden Police Department, a member of Antioch Baptist Church, located a guitar believed to have been taken during the break-in at a Shreveport pawn shop.

Kemp contacted the owner of the guitar, who positively identified the instrument. Kemp then notified Webster Parish authorities.

As the investigation progressed, detectives learned that Dollar had sold several items taken during the break-in of the church.

On Thursday, January 4, investigators interviewed Dollar, who had his attorney present. During the interview, Dollar confessed to the break-in andtheft.

Tucker said additional items taken during the break-in have been recovered; however, Dollar informed the officers that he dropped and destroyed the church's soundboard during the break-in.

At the time of his arrest, Dollar was on probation for two counts of molestation of a juvenile. He is currently being held at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
