Thieves have struck two computer-based businesses in the past month, stealing computers and accessories.
The latest break-in was discovered early Thursday by a neighbor of Quality Technologies, 113 W. Chicago Blvd., in downtown Tecumseh. Quality Technologies owner Dick Johnson said the woman heard glass breaking at 2:30 a.m. or 3 a.m., then saw the shattered rear window to the business when she was leaving for work just before 6 a.m.
“The back door glass was blown all over the building,” Johnson said.

Among the stolen items were laptop and desktop computers, flat-panel monitors and computer components, Johnson said.
“It really makes me mad,” Johnson said. “They took my laptop.”
Information on the break-in was not available from the Tecumseh Police Department, other than officers were dispatched to the business at 5:50 a.m.
Johnson said a few days ago the owner of Coffey’s Computer Center, 31241/2 N. Adrian Highway, called his son, Ben, to let him know his business had been struck by thieves.

“He called us to let us know about specific items that were stolen so we could be on the watch for it” if someone tried to sell it, Johnson said.
According to an Adrian Charter Township Police Department report released Saturday, thieves broke into Coffey Computer Center overnight Dec. 17. Johnson said he understood the thieves struck there again late last week.
In the report, the officer said software, motherboards, processors and other components were taken between 9 p.m. Dec. 17 and 9 a.m. Dec. 18. It appeared the business was accessed through a side door.
Anyone with information on the break-ins is asked to call the Adrian Township police at 264-1000 or the Tecumseh police at 423-7494.
