THIEVES at the weekend broke into Teal Mining Company and hauled a way a a safe containing US$500, K250,000 cash, cheque books and air tickets.
The thieves also stole four laptops, the main computer server and two desktop computers.
Kitwe police chief, Dobson Siame, could not be reached for a comment but police sources said thieves entered the premises by breaking down a gate and the door before cutting off the alarm system.The sources said the thieves then took away the safe, which contained the cash, cheque books and other valuables such as digital cameras and air tickets. No arrests have been made.
