Century 21 hit by burglars

A maintenance man interrupted a burglary in progress at a real estate office early Wednesday morning on Jefferson Street.

“When he opened the door he heard people inside the building and called 911,” said Matt Brewster, recruiter and trainer for Century 21. “The burglars took off running.

”Brewster said the thieves stole desktop computers, a big-screen TV and digital audio equipment before making a break for it.

“It looks as if they got caught halfway through what they were trying to accomplish,” Brewster said. “The stolen computers do not contain any of the clients’ records or any of their personal information.”

The burglars gained entry by kicking in an outside door on the side of the building.
