One arrested for theft in AG office

PATNA: The Kotwali police on Friday nabbed one Guddu Kumar, a daily wage worker in the Accountant General (AG) office, for his alleged involvement in stealing important computer parts from the office and selling them into the market.

The police also recovered some stolen computer parts on the confession of Kumar, Ajay Kumar, officer in-charge (OC) of Kotwali police station said.

The OC said that the office concerned had lodged a written complaint with the Kotwali police station about theft of some computer parts from its premises about a month back.

He said that the officials of the AG office on Friday informed the local police station complaining about theft of some parts again.

A police team led by sub-inspector (SI) Anand Kumar reached the spot and inquired about the theft, Ajay Kumar said, adding after questioning of some employees of the office, Guddu Kumar was detained for further interrogation.

He said that during interrogation, Guddu, a resident of Ekangarsarai, Nalanda, confessed to his involvement in theft of computer parts from the office, the OC said.

He said that acting on the revelations made by the arrested youth, a police team carried out raids in different localities and recovered some of the stolen parts.

The stolen parts contained important information, Ajay Kumar added. Meanwhile, DSP (law and order) Amar Singh said that raids are on to nab those involved in purchase of the stolen parts.
