Police warn of downtown office thief
Police are searching for a man they think stole two laptop computers from the Metropolitan Transit Authority's downtown building.
A man with a shaved head, wearing a white dress shirt and light-blue jeans, and weighing between 185-210 pounds entered the Metropolitan Transit building in the 1900 block of Main on Feb. 16, authorities said.
He followed an employee to the eighth floor where authorities think he took two laptops from a conference room. Authorities think the man may be tied to similar crimes in downtown, Greenway Plaza and the Texas Medical Center during the past 18 months to two years.
Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and charging of any suspect. Anyone with information on the case is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
