A Edgewood man pleaded guilty yesterday in federal court in Greenbelt to stealing computer equipment belonging to the Internal Revenue Service.
Kevin Lackland, 43, who began work at the IRS in December 2003, could receive a maximum 10-year prison sentence, according to the plea agreement.
Lackland stole computers, monitors, hard drives and other equipment worth more than $20,000 and sold much of it on eBay. Some of the stolen computer equipment was recovered in his home. Lackland's sentencing is scheduled July 30 before U.S. District Judge Deborah K. Chasanow.
