TENNESSEE COMPUTERS STOLEN FROM CHURCH The Mountain Press:
Three Knox County teenagers have been arrested in connection with a theft at a Seymour church.
Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals said Friday that the three have been charged with the May 12 burglary of St. Paul Episcopal Church, 1028 Boyds Creek Road.
The three are 18-year-old David James Loveday of 3824 Mutton Hollow Road, and two juveniles ages 16 and 17. All have been charged with burglary. Loveday is awaiting a hearing in General Sessions Court in Sevierville, while the other two suspects, who are being held in the Sevier County Juvenile Detention Facility, will have their cases heard in Juvenile Court.
Several items were taken from the church during the early-morning burglary, including computer equipment and items used in church services. The sheriff's department criminal investigations division soon developed suspects in the burglary, Seals said, leading to the arrest of the three teenagers and recovery of thestolen items. Two crosses and a lot of brass and gold items were among the items taken.
The investigation was handled by Detectives Matthew Cubberley and Johnny Bohanan and Capt. Jeff McCarter.
