Anna Nicole Smith Computer Theft: Anna Photos Stolen, But Case Solved
By Julie Pike May 17, 2007
Anna Nicole Smith had one of her personal laptops stolen and they contained several photos of the late Anna Nicole on the hard drive. Other items on the computer also included future movie scripts, plot lines, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and a number of unreleased images of Smith, who starred in the Edgewood production "Illegal Aliens."
The computer was stolen from Edgewood Studios at the Howe Center in Rutland, Vermont. According to an Associated press report, the laptop was recovered undamaged several days after an April 16 break-in. There's no indication the people who took thecomputer knew what was on it, but they did turn on the computer and view the images, said police Detective Ray Lamoria."I know that one of them said they knew they had something that was valuable," said Lamoria. "Their main effort was to sell the computer. I don't think they were making any effort to download the photos and sell them on the Web."
The break-ins took place in the wake of a violent windstorm that hit the city early on the morning on April 16. While the storm knocked out power to most of the city, the Howe Center had electricity and cameras in some of the buildings photographed the burglars in the act.
Six people have been charged in the theft. On April 16, Daniel J. Guyette, 18, of Rutland was arrested on unrelated charges and found with a new pair of work gloves and a bottle of maple syrup later reportedstolen from Edgewood Studios.

Within a few days, Lamoria said, police got a search warrant for the home of Aaron M. Gero, 18, of West Rutland and that's where they found the stolen laptop.
Brennan E. Bigelow, 16, of Rutland, was charged with burglary and possession of stolen goods. Tony D. Eldien, 20, of Rutland, was charged with possession of stolen goods. Timothy M. Pearson, 19, of Rutland, was charged with possession of stolen property.
Court is scheduled for June 18.
