Two members of the Jamaica Defence Force are behind bars on Monday afternoon facing criminal charges.
The two privates were arrested last week.
One of them was handed over to the police by the military after he was reportedly found in possession of stolen goods, while the second was arrested in connection with a car stealing racket.
Investigators from the Matildas Corner Police Station told the RJR News Centre that one of the soldiers was arrested last week by military personnel after he was found in possession of two stolen laptop computers.
It is reported that thieves broke into an apartment along East King House Road last Wednesday and stole the computer.
Two days later it was found in the Private's possession at the military base.
It is reported that the Private had been under surveillance for sometime by the military who had intelligence on him.
Members of the JDF moved in on him on Friday and during a search of his personal items, he was found in possession of two laptops.
The military conducted a probe and subsequently handed him over to the Matilda's Corner Police.
The police are asking anyone whose laptops may have been stolen to contact the Matilda's Corner Police.
In the meantime, the second soldier was arrested last Thursday during a crack down on a car stealing ring.
The police reportedly raided his home in Eltham, St. Catherine and seized a Black Nissan Sunny motor car.
He allegedly told investigators that he bought the car for $90,000.
However, the police say the car which was stolen in 2000 is valued at more than one million dollars.
The police further reported that the engine number had been tampered with.
The soldier is scheduled to face a series of identification parades in connection with other stolen motor vehicles.
