Click here to contact Mark Bruce Investigators are looking into thefts at four Hamilton County schools over the weekend! The Crooks made of with more than $60,000 of goods, a whole lot of which taxpayers paid for! Police are trying to piece together what exactly happened but right now, they only know for sure what was stolen. Burglars made off with $52,000 worth of technology from Lakeside Academy. They stole a camera and several laptop computers that were part of a mobile computer lab. At Central High School, the thieves nabbed $3,300 worth of band equipment. The crooks got $8,000 worth of technology from Bess T. Shepherd Elementary and less than $500 from Tyner Academy. Investigators say you can help. "If you see anyone with abundance of band equipment trying to sell or give to kid, notify Chattanooga Police or the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department," said Sheriff's Department PIO Dusty Stokes. East Ridge high school was burglarized last weekend but police solved that crime. Two juveniles were arrested Friday and an adult has charges pending. It's not clear if all these break-ins are connected, that's something investigators will surely look into. As for word from the school system, spokesperson Danielle Clark says this is a police issue not a school issue. Click here to contact Mark Bruce |
