Stolen items, drugs recovered in raid
ELKO - Elko County Sheriff's deputies might have found a laptop computer stolen from the campus of the former Sage Elementary campus when they executed a search warrant at a Spring Creek home late Sunday night.
Acting on anonymous tips about possible narcotics violations and sales, the Elko County Sheriff's Office obtained a search warrant for the Spring Valley Parkway residence of Robert Borland, 46, and Rebecca Leingang, 48, Elko County Undersheriff Rocky Gonzalez said.
Elko County Sheriff's street enforcement deputies and the K-9 unit executed the search warrant and allegedly found marijuana, drug paraphernalia, prescription narcotics violations, a bag of allegedly stolen IFA jewelry and a Dell laptop computer that appeared to come from the Elko County School District, Gonzalez said.
Deputies are verifying if the computer is school district property, he said. They are also looking to see if there is a connection between the two and other break-ins in the area, he said.
Borland was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of a dangerous drug, two counts of possession of stolen property, ex-felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $8,260.
