The Richmond Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding people responsible for a theft last week, when $26,000 in computer hardware was stolen from Wharton Junior College’s Richmond campus.

According to a statement from the department, police were called to the campus, on F.M. 1640, on Wednesday, where officers discovered that eight overhead data/computer projectors had been stolen from eight classrooms. The college valued the projectors at $26,000.

College staff members told police they believe the theft may have occurred Tuesday between 7:15 a.m. and 10:15 p.m.

Anyone with any information about the theft is asked to call Richmond Police Det. John Dawson at 281-342-2849.
