News 12 at 11 o'clock, November 12, 2007

Augusta, Ga. --- A burglary early Monday morning at the Circuit City off Wheeler Road on Robert C. Daniel Parkway, and the thieves got away with thousands of dollars of electronics. It happened at five o'clock Monday morning. Richmond County investigators said 50 laptop computers were stolen along with other merchandise.

When deputies responded to a burglar alarm, they found the back door of Circuit City sawed in half and the bottom half of the door was open.

Along with those 50 laptops, Investigators believe other items may have been stolen. They're waiting on an inventory list from the store.

As far as interior damage, investigators said several glass cases were broken. And they said 50 laptop computers are going to be hard to hide.

"Were hoping that if anyone sees somebody with a large amount of laptops or someone who's selling laptops for a cheap price, that they'll give us a call and give us that persons information so that we can follow that lead up," Lt. Scott Peebles said.

The total value of the merchandise stolen is around $50,000.
