Computers with Davidson County voter information stolen
NASHVILLE — Davidson County election officials say computers containing the names, addresses and phone numbers of every Nashville voter have been stolen.
Theives broke into the Davidson County Election Commission’s office over the Christmas holiday and took the computers which also contained the last four digits of all Davidson County voters.
The information about the 337,000 voters is the same information that candidates can buy from the county for their mailing lists.
There is no estimate of the cost of the damage and missing equipment.
Early voting for the Feb. 5 presidential primaries begins on Jan. 16. The theft is not expected to cause any problem for election workers.
More details as they develop online and in Saturday’s News Sentinel.
