Man charged in business burglaries
West Bend - A Milwaukee man has been charged with a series of burglaries, accused of taking laptop computers, cell phones, other electronic goods and cash from Town of Polk and Town of Jackson businesses in May and September of 2006.
Kim N. Brown, 49, is charged with four counts of burglary, all felonies for which he could be imprisoned 50 years if convicted.
According to a criminal complaint, Brown stole the items from the businesses and then sold them to the owner of a computer shop in Milwaukee. The stolen items were worth nearly $17,000, according to the complaint.
Brown also stole a credit card from one of the businesses and used it to buy gas and other items for a total of $200, the complaint says.
Brown is being held in the Racine Correctional Institution. He is to appear in Washington County Circuit Court on Feb. 4. He was sentenced in August in Milwaukee County to 5 years in prison for burglary.
