MICHIGAN COMPUTERS STOLEN Thieves disrupt holidays for local florist, dog shelter | Battle Creek Enquirer - www.battlecreekenquirer.com - Battle Creek, Mich. Thieves disrupted but didn’t spoil the holidays for Battle Creek florist Tim Robinson or the dogs and cats at a local shelter. When someone pried open a rear door at Central Florist, 261 North Ave., on Nov. 27, they ransacked the building and stole Robinson’s business computers, disrupting orders and accounting, and the only cash he had, $48. As he stepped through the shambles that day, Robinson, 46, realized whoever stole his computer also took several hundred pounds of dog food.
Flowers have been Robinson’s vocation since 1979, but dogs are his passion.
He owns six dogs and has had 100 over the last 40 years, caring for many dogs which have been abused or neglected.
The theft of the dog food was troubling since Robinson had urged members of the Pennfield Exchange Club to donate pet food, cleaning supplies and money to the Calhoun County Animal Shelter. Students and staff at Kellogg Community College also collected.
When word spread about the burglary, the Exchange Club and KCC began collecting again and earlier this week more than 300 pounds of food, rawhide treats and other items were delivered to the shelter.
