FLORIDA COMPUTERS STOLEN FROM CHURCH Thieves Rob Church Of Holiday Donations - News Story - WFTV Orlando
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- The pastor of an Orange County church can't believe how ruthless the thieves were who robbed his church overnight. Burglars broke into the Hope Lutheran Church on Dean Road, unwrapped donated gifts, and stole only the ones they wanted.
The thieves also stole church keys, computers, and money.
The church's Pastor, Paul Von Werder, told Channel 9 the gifts from church members were supposed to go to several families. But early Sunday morning he arrived at his church to find that someone had rifled through all of the presents that were being given to the needy and took the ones they wanted to keep.
Von Werder says that the robbers also broke into a safe and took petty cash and all of the nursery school money.
In the midst of anger and sadness, the church members say they're thankful that the suspects only broke into the office and not the actual church. They are hoping that the thieves have a change of heart and return thestolen goods.
