ZIMBABWE COMPUTERS STOLEN FROM SCHOOL The Herald
10 computers stolen
FIVE suspected armed robbers raided Mariga Secondary School in Zvimba last week and got away with 10 state-of-the-art computers worth over $4 million.
Police spokesperson Chief Inspector Andrew Phiri said the five, who were driving a brown Mazda B2200, went to the school where they approached a security guard at gunpoint and demanded keys to the computer room.
The security guard informed them that he did not have the keys and one of the suspects was left to guard him while the others broke into the computer room and stole the computers and curtains.
They loaded the loot into the car and ordered the guard to jump into the vehicle and drove off heading towards Norton.
Chief Insp Phiri said the security guard was later dumped in the Masiyarwa area.
A report was made to the police and nothing has been recovered so far. Investigations are still in progress and anyone with information leading to the arrest of the suspects should contact any nearest police station.
Since last year, gangs of suspected robbers and thieves have been targeting schools, getting away with goods and property worth millions of dollars. — HR.
