ALABAMA COMPUTERS STOLEN The Times-Journal
Daniel John Alsdorf Jr., 26 of Rainsville, and a 16-year-old boy, were both arrested Monday after they allegedly took two desktop computers, a printer, two keyboards, and a notebook computer, all valued at $10,500.
Both Alsdorf and the boy were apparently hired to clean PlayCore in Fort Payne through a Section cleaning company.
According to the Alabama State Sex Offender Registry, Alsdorf is a convicted sex offender.
Fort Payne Police Chief David Walker said officers are investigating Alsdorf working with a teenager.
“He definitely could be in violation of the sex offender laws, but at this time, we are not sure what kind of violations,” Walker said. “Our investigators are still checking everything out.”
Nina Haney, sex offender compliance specialist for the DeKalb County Sheriff’s office, said Friday that charges could be filed against Alsdorf.
Haney said that because Alsdorf is a sex offender and his offense involved a small child, he can never live or work with children or live within 500 feet of schools or daycares.
“But as for working with a 16-year-old, who is no longer in school, we are not sure of the violations there,” Haney said.
