ILLINOIS COMPUTERS STOLEN Burglary nets $40,000 in jewels, gold:

Burglars pried a rear basement window of a home on the 1150 block of South East Avenue, overnight March 20, pried open a file cabinet and stole gold and diamond Indian jewelry valued at nearly $40,000. The thief or thieves also stole two laptop computers, two cellphones and a purse containing $100 cash. Police say a rear door window and a kitchen window also showed signs of being tampered with. According to Commander Clemet Harbour, the couple who owns the home was sleeping upstairs at the time.
Burglary
A laptop computer was stolen from a locked closet inside the Fox Recreation Center, 624 S. Oak Park Ave., sometime between March 13 and 19.
