Computer stolen from Keio U. held student info
A computer containing personal information on 2,009 current students and alumni at Keio University, including the math scores of 270 students, was stolen in late November last year, according to the university.
A total of 25 computers were stolen from five laboratories and other rooms in the university's science and technology department in Yokohama early in the morning on Nov. 27, the university said.
More than 10 windows of the rooms were broken and the locks of the rooms' doors broken open.
The university filed a criminal complaint with a local police station.
Following an in-house investigation, the university discovered this month that one of the 25 stolen computers contained personal information, such as students' names and ID numbers, the university said.
