Holtville Schools Burglarized

Jon Ledoux, the Superintendent of Holtville Unified School District says, "Well we've had laser printers stolen, projectors, large number of band equipment, instruments, computers, laptop computers."
In the past eight months, 3 schools in Holtville have been broken into four times with the thieves getting away with more than $30,000 worth of equipment.
"It's a big expenditure, but the dollar amount is nothing compared to the loss the kids get in education. And that's what we're concerned with."
The thieves not only stole equipment, but also vandalized the schools, breaking down doors, windows and cutting through cables.
Superintendent Jon Ledoux calls the attacks low blows to the schools and students.
"When you're in a community such as Holtville, which is traditionally a very nice safe community and you have someone coming in and doing this to your community, it's very frustrating and it makes you rather angry."
Angry enough to offer a $1,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in this string of burglaries.
"And you have people coming in committing these cowardly acts of just stealing from our kids. It's something that needs to be stopped."
