WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) –Two Wayne County Schools were vandalized overnight.

The custodial staff at Buffalo Elementary and Middle School discovered the damage and missing items when they arrived for school Wednesday morning.

At the elementary, several classrooms, the principal’s office, and the school nurse’s office were vandalized.

Among the items taken were gifts and money the kids had collected for needy families. The vandals also stole a washer and dryer. School officials are not sure if any of the children’s medicine being kept in the nurse’s office is missing.

Over at the middle school, besides the vandalism, a number of computers were taken from classrooms.

The principal says this is the 2nd time the middle school has been hit in the past couple of months.
