KILLEEN, Texas — Christmas had to come early for a Killeen woman and four children after burglars stole most of their clothing and some computers.

Evelyn Saulk, whose husband is a deployed soldier, cares for her two children, plus two youngsters whose mother is also deployed.

Saulk's home was burglarized last Friday while she was at work and the children were at school.

Laptops that were stolen had been used to communicate with the deployed parents.

She told the Killeen Daily Herald that Christmas gifts and most of the clothing in the home were swiped.

Saulk says she was forced to take other gifts set aside for Christmas, mostly clothing, and give them to the children early so they'd have something to wear to school.

Saulk says she installed new security devices after the burglary.

A Killeen police spokeswoman declined comment on the investigation.
